Well, here I find myself, after an almost 6-month hiatus, apologizing for having neglected my blog yet again… My time and energy have been required elsewhere, and there just hasn’t been enough to go around, unfortunately. Has that ever happened to you?

In fact, life certainly has a way of forcing directional changes in spite of our plans, doesn’t it? I have always been intrigued by those pivotal moments in my life where my plans had been derailed and yet, as it turned out, there were greater things in store for me. This time around, I’m still waiting for that “greater thing,” but I’m certain that it’s just around the bend…

In the meantime, I am doing my best to savor everything good in my life. I have a steady income; I have a roof over my head; I have wonderful neighbors; I have a loving family; and I have a beautiful daughter. Earlier this year, Amanda and I started a new tradition in our little nuclear family that has helped both of us tremendously… After we read our bedtime stories and turn out the light, we each share our favorite part of the day with one another. This simple exercise has served as a wonderful reminder of just how blessed we are…
